There is currently a print ad for some beer (not being a beer consumer, I don't recall which) showing a group of guys enjoying each other's company. The tagline: "They're your reset button."
For much of my Orlando life, I've managed to visit a certain watering hole just about every week. Well, it's been closed for remodelling since August, and doesn't show signs of returning anytime soon. We've tried to visit its "subsitute," complete with our favorite bartender, but it just wasn't satisfying. So last night, the convergence of Dan's day off and a potential for late-morning start for me today prompted a visit to a different watering hole, unvisited by us for at least 2 years. Somehow, we managed to avoid the cover charge and still arrive during "free drinks until 11:30." Four free Rum-And-Coke-with-Limes later, I felt no pain. In fact, I discovered what was really missing all these weeks was dancing. The loud (good!) music, dancing, and a promise to self to say "Can I have another beverage" every time I thought of work or the state of the world, all combined to a wonderful (dare I say "glorious"?) evening. Even if it was hard to get up this morning.
