Piloting

So today was the "pilot" session of one of the 5 classes I'm designing right now, this one a computer-systems training course for resort front desks. As of the first break, there was minor tweaking to be done, but survivable. By lunch, system slowdowns had made us run rather late. By the end of the day at 5, we chopped off about 45 minutes of content to let everyone out on time. By 6, I was amazed I still had the resolve to go to the gym instead of a bar. Tomorrow begins the work of saving this class. (sigh)

On a side note, I've ben forgetting to blog something I noticed Sunday. I was enjoying the fresh air and a meal by dining outside at Panera Bread downtown, on the edge of Lake Eola Park. A jet plane (or some other plane) flew by rather loudly, and my heart skipped at least a few beats. Other people visibly took pause, if only for a moment, and all I could do was peer cautiously at the Orange County Courthouse tower until I couldn't hear the jet anymore. I'm ready to be over this....
