Welcome to Monday.

I came into work today to find more painting had been done in the office. (This is overall a good thing, as they did the patching a month ago; the place has looked oddly post-war-like since.) In classic bureaucracy fashion, they got to the old archive room this round. We frantically purged and moved the contents of this room earlier this year, and it has sat empty since. Empty, that is, until mid last week, when workers came and placed shelving units in the room. So, of course, naturally, they came in to paint after the shelves were installed. So now, the shelves sit outside the room, blocking access to the community printer, fax machine, and the ever-elusive electric pencil sharpener, presumably waiting for yet another (different) set of workers to replace said shelving.

It is also worth noting that the interior office walls are being painted yellow. I wonder if the Powers that Be considered this kind of study before choosing this color?
