Vindication

Ever since I moved to Florida 7 years ago (!), I have often been reminded about my failure-to-communicate with people back home. I'll admit, I am not the best at letter-writing, but 95% of the time I will respond if written to. (I am better at e-mail — it is more acceptable to write a quick e-mail than a one-sentence paper letter — but my grandparents are not among the wired community.)

So imagine my surprise when the post-holiday "Thank You" card I sent to my grandparents was returned as "undeliverable." I know my handwriting can be pretty lousy, but I thought the PO Box # and ZIP code were legible at least. On talking to Mom Monday night, I found that they had discontinued their PO box sometime in the summer, and the forwarding had run out in December. (This explains why my Christmas card went through, but not the "Thank You" card.)

Is it just me, or would it not be wise to let me know you've changed addresses if you want me to write you?
