Did You See The Game?
I don't think I've ever actually watched the Super Bowl. Football doesn't interest me, its status as an officiela "national television-viewing event" notwithstanding. I have, on occasion, taped the show so I could fast-forward through the game and watch the famed commercials and halftime show. This year, though, we were surprised to find the game on FOX television, and didn't even bother watching or taping anything.
It was amazing how the other networks seemed to throw their hands up in the air with an attitude of "well, no one's gonna watch us anyway." ABC ran Pocahontas, which isn't exactly one of the most popular Disney animated films—but hopefully they at least got the content on the cheap. (After all, it's made in-house, has already been on network TV before, and is currently for sale on video.)
I did my usual post "national television-viewing event" activity this morning: Check at least one news site the morning after and see who won so I don't sound quite as out-of-it at work. It's worked for all the Survivors so far, and seems to work for the Super Bowl today.
