Movin' On Up
Give another point to my home-area, Faux Clermont (aka "Citrus Ridge" and/or "Four Corners" depending on who you ask): The non-functioning stoplight at our subdivision, installed the last week of December/first week of January, was turned on and flashing as of sometime yesterday. From what I read, this usually means it should be fully functional within about a week or two. So we've gone from being a one-stoplight "town" to two—count 'em, TWO—just since Thanksgiving. The state keeps cautioning that we shouldn't celebrate, since this just means an increase in rear-end collisions. I'm thinking, though, it should decrease the number of side-impact collisions I see each week.
Unrelated: I don't know the source, but according to an internal web page this morning, someone named W. Edwards Deming once said, "It is not necessary to change. Survival is not mandatory." All I can think is, "that's quite a relief." <grin>
