So, we're getting another area code in Central Florida. It's been 407 as long as I can remember, and then came the hard-fought 321 (to tie-in with the spacecraft launches from Cape Canaveral). But starting in July, we're going to add... 689.

689? Huh? They say it has "no significance" except that it was available. And while the "9" isn't as troubling as a "0" or "1" when trying to spell things, it doesn't make it easy: 9 = WXY on your phone keypad. The best I can come up with is "MUY," as in Spanish for "more." If anyone tries to capitalize on this realization, I will expect my royalty check. (Can't you just picture it: An air-conditioning repair shop with the phone number 689-689-3746, muy-muy-frio?)
