Don't Cross The Streams (Of Consciousness)
Loosely connected thoughts from vacation
In my rush to leave the office before last week's vacation, I left behind my golf umbrella, something I later dreaded with the anticipation of Tropical Depression Edouard passing through mid-week . . . although if it hadnt been for incessant news coverage, I probably wouldnt have even known there was a tropical system anywhere nearby . . . it did make the weather extra-humid, though, which might contribute to why so many folks I know have been sick in the past couple of weeks; time to pop the Echinacea, Goldenseal, and Vitamin C . . . you'd think I popped a "cute pill" or something on Thursday night, with the number of boys making eyes at me, much to Dan's dismay . . . perhaps most ironic was the tall-and-skinny blonde-in-sleeveless-Abercrombie-shirt who probably wouldn't have even looked my way had I been wearing my glasses . . . he placed his useless-in-daylight yellow "sun" glasses on me and declared it good . . . don't worry, I actually was good . . . no, really . . . had a good time at the Disney parks through the week . . . I haven't been at a theme park in just about forever, but in the past month I've been to Epcot four times, the Studios once, and of course, Thursday's "one day, one park" trip to Animal Kingdom with Dan and Dewayne . . . it was great fun, although I was torn between enjoying the lack of lines, and being scared for the lack of revenue-producing business at my employer; still, the wait-free experience was unique . . . I managed to keep my week added-weight-free, something that usually doesn't happen on vacation . . . all was well, at least, until Saturday, when I attended a mid-afternoon food-related get-together with the Former Co-workers, at a beautiful house in the hills north of Clermont, then drove home, met Dan, and went to a Luau BBQ in Davenport think "nosh all day" . . . perhaps I should have noshed more on Sunday, so the drinkage at the 'Moon would not have had near as much effect on me . . . so while I managed to awaken around 7:30 and 8 almost every morning when I wasn't working, Monday morning dawned painfully early for the return to the job.
