Nog-in

One of the holiday-treats-from-my-childhood I still adore is Egg Nog (the alcohol-free one, this was childhood, folks). Mom would buy it maybe once or twice as a special goodie. I still enjoy a bit of the 'Nog now and again. Fortunately, I have a husband who knows this, and he was kind enough to pick up a bottle while at the grocery store last Friday.

The only problem is that the dairies have caught on to this once-a-year craze, and released it far too early. I mean, it was on the shelves by November 1. They (almost) managed to beat the holiday-decor installation at the malls. And here's how I know the 'Nog is out too early this year: the expiration date on the bottle is a full week before Thanksgiving.

Oh, well. It still tastes really good. <slurp>
