The Other Shoe
It finally happened. Oddly enough, I thought I heard the unreachable smoke alarm beep Thursday night, and actually contemplated a ladder purchase on Saturday with the dual purpose of changing the battery and properly installing Christmas lights for once. But at $250 for a tall enough A-frame style ladder, I decided against it. So, of course, last night at 3:30 a.m., the smoke alarm starts its chirp-of-death. Every 7 minutes or so. Until, naturally, I'm up and showered. Then it stopped.
Fortunately, Dan is off most of the day. I'm anticipating plastic shards and loose wires hanging from the ceiling.
