When you stay at a Disney hotel, you can generally count on at least one (if not two) magazines being provided for you: Disney Magazine (naturally) and usually something else from the Disney publishing conglomerate — FamilyFun, or something similar. Such was the case at the Grand Californian Hotel. When we moved across the street to the Disneyland Hotel, though, we had Disney Magazine and "Sunset."
My mom used to subscribe to Sunset. It has recipes, gardening advice, and architecture / home decor suggestions for those living in the West. It was Martha way before Martha became cool. I loved looking through the house plans and cool home redesigns as a kid. I'd nearly forgotten about the magazine, but this copy became one of my take-home souvies from this trip.
Two comments come to mind: As a kid, I liked this magazine. How gay was I? AND: The issue I came back with is filled with creative chocolate recipes. Danger, Will Robinson.
