Whaaaaa...?

OK, weather historians: has this ever happened before?
TROPICAL DEPRESSION IVAN SPECIAL ADVISORY NUMBER 67
NWS TPC/NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER MIAMI FL

...IVAN REGENERATES IN THE GULF OF MEXICO...

AT 6 PM CDT...2300Z...A TROPICAL STORM WARNING HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR A PORTION OF THE GULF OF MEXICO COAST FROM THE MOUTH OF THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER LOUISIANA WESTWARD TO SARGENT TEXAS.
They stopped tracking Ivan as a tropical system six days ago. Somehow it looped down, crossed Florida, and re-entered the gulf. Now, after all that coverage of New Orleans last time, Ivan's headed to finish the job somewhere in Texas or Louisiana.

Oh, and unpredictable Jeanne? Still defying prediction. Maybe we should buy some plywood. I'm kidding. Sort of.

  3. Like putting up plywood and hoping the power stays on so you don't loose the food in your fridge. LOL! This year will definately make history.
