"She's Wearing My Dress," gay man's edition

Last night, we arrived at our Thursday-night club to find the place already packed, which can only mean one thing: convention group. Sure enough, the Island was playing host to 400 people from Gap.

Since the club is frequented by tourists, it can be fun to point out the cutest of the evening's newest players. I attempted to point out one individual I thought Dan would appreciate: "over there, in the white shirt, long sleeves, with green and purple stripes." The apalled look on his face said I severely had misjudged his potential interest. Then I realized that where he was looking had missed my mark by several degrees. I followed his gaze...

...and realized there were many guys wearing the same shirt. No less than five, by my count.

Two lessons learned. First: Clearance merchandise plus employee discount plus employee gathering equals multiple opportunities for twinsies. Second: The sale table of major retail chains is not the place to shop for items if you are concerned about the "she's wearing my dress" syndrome.

  2. No! That's the amazing part. By then we were too distracted, counting guys with the shirt.
