Three little, unrelated stories are running around my head; I'd best capture them before they get lost in there:
Got To Make The Evening Last
The other day, Scott discussed people using cell phones at the gym. Yesterday and today, I noticed (how could you not?) one guy at my gym who loudly grunts, gasps and groans through his time on the elliptical runners. If it wasn't for the contorted-with-pain look on his face, as he shook his head back and forth to keep up his lightening pace, one might have thought he was enjoying himself inappropriately in a public place.
There are times when physical activity can be associated by whatever noises you want, as loud as you want, thank you. But when you're doing it to keep an ungodly pace on an indoor running machine, and it makes me worry you're about to pass out, well... slow down, you move too fast.
Placement Is Everything
In today's local paper, a small ad for the local cable company, announcing the upcoming loss of CNNfn. And where did they place an ad about the end of a financial-news station? Why, on the back page of the sports section, naturally. If CNN-SI ever comes back, perhaps the ad will be on the back of Business.
Stop The Madness
Driving home tonight, I noticed that one neighbor has already installed and lighted their green-Christmas-lights-in-the-shape-of-a-tree display. I think this is the house that had multiple, inflatable, internally-lit gigantic pumpkins at Halloween. God save us all.
Hum not sure why BHN (local cable company) placed the ad in the sports page, that's one job that I do not do.
