A Pint's A £ The World Around

As of late, the U.S. Dollar has been trading for about half a British Pound.

Since a pound is 16 ounces, I guess that makes a dollar eight ounces, and two bits (25¢) about two ounces.

It follows, then, that 64-bit processors (like the G5) must be incredibly dense, weighing 4 pounds in such a small space. No wonder they're so powerful — at that density they verge on being miniature black holes.

Conversely, now I understand why drinking my 12 ounce (and therefore 12 bit) Diet Coke gives me some extra mental processing power in the morning.

And at such a bargain: 12 bits theoretically should be $1.50, and yet the average can still runs in the 50-75¢ range.

  1. And you expect me to follow that at 7:45 in the AM on only 2 Diet Cokes... yea, right!
