After one of the most relaxing vacations in recent memory, it was incredibly hard to step on the plane to come back to Florida. (Should one feel homesick after one returns from vacation?) I got back here just in time for the start of the annual gloom-and-doom of forecasting and reporting on hurricane season.
Add to this, how I learned just before vacation that I did not get the job I was interviewing for — and the guy that did, is in my department. This means that not only am I NOT moving on, but I'm getting my workload doubled while we search for his replacement.
Add into the mixture: I spent last week as little more than a PowerPoint pixel pusher for my two new bosses — a task trickling on into this week and the foreseeable next month — and you have the recipe for me being a little whiny....
Is ok, you can! I think it's time for a treat (a drink on me). Look at that a FREE drink for you Eric and I didn't even have to show you my underwears :-).
