Three Favorite Pics

While I build a photo album from SF, here are three of my favorites on first pass.

I grew up seeing shots of the great Transamerica Pyramid dominating the skyline, and hearing about the redwood grove at its base. Finally, I got to see it up close and personal:

I took this one spur-of-the-moment while waiting for a cable car. At the time I pictured it in black-and-white, so did a little color conversion this morning.

One last: I don't think I've ever posted a self-picture on here. Honestly, there are few pictures of me that I like. But this one — taken of me sitting on a bridge over Redwood Creek in Muir Woods National Monument — perhaps captures the best image of me I've seen. It doesn't make me look too fat, I'm not squinting too much or worse, have my eyes closed… and I'm where I most want to be: in the unique moist cool, calm and quiet of the forest, with nothing to hear but the sounds of the creek and the wind in the treetops.
