Ghost of Christmas: Pass

I've been rehearsing Christmas music since August (for the Chorus concerts). He started decorating his workplace in mid-October for the holidays. So it wasn't all that shocking we agreed earlier this month: no tree in the house this year. Maybe, if we were hosting people, or hadn't been living with "the holiday season" outside the home for weeks already.

I'd even already given up the notion of Christmas cards this year … again. Yes, this year I cross the line into getting crossed off others' mailing lists. It's not for lack of thinking of people — it's just such a leap from the time spent thinking on a person to writing a full-blown, personalized note in each card.

About all that remains, I suppose, are the social obligations (three of which are, naturally, simultaneous), which I plan to thoroughly enjoy. Oh, and the "gifting" part of the Christmas tradition. I'm supposing that even a hardened retailer like Dan would be hurt and appalled if I left that out of the plan. <GRIN>

  1. So what's next? Shouting "Bah, humbug!" at everyone? Just kidding. I am still up in the air on cards this year, too.

  2. We gave up cards a few years ago. We have good intentions of writing a nice letter, and even bought the stationery, but it hasn't been done yet. The tree is now smaller than before and fake! No more gifts for either of our families. Ho hum. Bah humbug. But we really do like the season....concerts, music, friends, dinners.....just like good gay guys should.

  3. Cards are just something I fill out, address, and somtimes even stamp...

And then not mail until after Christmas. Uhm... if at all.
