This Friday night, our Chorus will hold our technical rehearsal for the holiday concerts. The rehearsal is all about lights and staging, and not so much about singing … meaning we'll stand around a lot. Since I have to be there (and by "there" I mean the opposite side of downtown from the rest of my life) by 6:30, I'll bring a change of (casual) clothes with me to work.
Normally, I would pack a bag the night before. But this week, my department holiday party is the night before. This, of itself, requires me to zip home after work with just enough time to change, shower and bring Dan back to the party. So, I probably need to select, clean and press my clothes for the party by the night before.
Except on Wednesday we have the final true rehearsal for the concert. I usually bring casual clothes to work with me for these rehearsals, as well — and this week I need to remember to bring the money for concert tickets I've sold.
It seems, then, that tonight I need to lay out casual clothes for two nights, iron my holiday party attire, put the ticket money (and leftover tickets) with tomorrow's stuff and set out my donation for the Chorus' Toys-For-Tots drive for Friday. This, my friends, is obsessive-compulsive behavior in its most pure form.
All this, and I didn't even get into the two evenings of concerts and Monday's outing to Candlelight at Epcot. With all that, after tonight, the next evening I don't have something planned in the 7-10 p.m. evening timeslot … is next Tuesday.
You are such a social butterfly. :-) Hope the concerts go well.
