Back To The Future
I've gotten a chuckle out of the Meet The Robinsons trailer every time I see it — the flyby of a Space Mountain look-alike in the future, but in a theme park called "Todayland," and the downtown office building that looks suspiciously like a Disney-owned one in Celebration. Well, today the soundtrack album came online. Not only is the score by Danny Elfman, and the album feature songs from folks like Rufus Wainwright and The All American Rejects … it has They Might Be Giants singing "There's A Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow" from Disney's classic Carrousel of Progress attraction. What a hoot!

My copy is in the mail right now. Ordered it from Amazon at a great price. Can't wait because I loves me some Danny Elfman!
ReplyDeleteI heard the great big beautiful tomorrow on a pod cast this week and got the soundtrack too just because of that song! Danny Elfman did a good job... I really like his work!
ReplyDeleteHaven't heard it yet....all of you Florida boys get to all of the good stuff WAY before the three-hour-behind-you West Coast nerds do.
ReplyDeleteHey! Want to go see MTR with me Friday night?
ReplyDeleteI'm sure I'll have the soundtrack in hand shortly. And I'd love to see MTR, but this is Chorus Weekend, I have no life for the next three days ...
ReplyDeleteAwesome! Now I must buy this soundtrack. Carousel of Giants!
