Un-Docked

I may have alluded to here once or more than I use a Mac. One feature I use of the Dock — a combination of application switcher and launching system in Mac OS X — is the ability to drag URLs for later use. If I don't want to permanently bookmark something, or if I want to mark a song or album in iTunes to look at later, I just drag it to the dock, and I get this little "@" icon to click on later — like this. Well, I'd gotten up to four of them … today's Leap Day … they look spring-loaded … and I don't want to work. Perfect time to clear 'em out! In no particular order:

PlaceBlogger: This was referenced back at BlogOrlando. I'm still exploring, but I've moved this one from temporary storage to my regular bookmarks.

Southern Expressions: Why Huckabee?: Considering my vote didn't count in the Florida Presidential Primary (and at the rate things are going, only the votes of the Superdelegates might matter), I enjoyed Brad's take on things. And might I add (at the risk of jumping the shark on leap day): in a contest between McCain, with whose platform I don't agree, and Obama, who doesn't appear to have the experience needed for the job in a crisis situation, this disenfranchised voter truly feels he'll be voting for the lesser of two evils. Again. (Not that I think Clinton's any better on either count.)

Spirit of Saint Lewis Highlights that Shape Your Life: Definitely in the "overdue for follow-through" category. Lewis' premise was to list off some of those key moments in life that leap to mind first. A few of mine:
  1. Seeing Wicked for the first time. I loved the book (and its sequel), loved the soundtrack, and was on the edge of my seat waiting for the show to start.
  2. Reaching Cape Flattery for the first time — the northwesternmost point in the continental US.
  3. My first date with T — sorry to be mushy, but I'd be lying if I left it off.
  4. My first vacation to Florida. Which was also the last vacation here, since I moved here a year later.
  5. Hiking to the top of Multnomah Falls alone, just to enjoy the serenity.
  6. Going to Rockaway Beach with close friends right before the start of the college year.

i'm here… he's there: Spider - The K-Tel Soundtrack of my Life…: A for-fun meme to wrap up, though I didn't put in commentary. Some of these just explain themselves — and if nothing else you can see what a bizarre collection I have on my iPod.
If your life were a soundtrack, what would the music be?

Here’s how it works:
  1. open your library (iTunes, winamp, media player, iPod)
  2. put it on shuffle
  3. press play
  4. for every question, type the song that’s playing
  5. new question – press the next button
  6. don’t lie and try to pretend you’re cool
