Why Did The Addict Cross The Road?

In September, I moved to a new home. Last month, I moved to a new job. Both are south of US 192, even if only slightly. The grocery store, my gym, my doctor, my dentist, my optometrist … all to the south of the highway.

Really, except for once-a-week Chorus rehearsals (which are way, way north in downtown Orlando), I almost have no reason to cross to the north side of the highway in the day-to-day of my workweek. Save one.

Starbucks.

The two stores that are on the way to work sit on the north side of the highway (as does a Dunkin' Donuts, for those of you who prefer that). Yes, I know there's one near my office that's south, as well. It's just not on the shortest route from home to work.

And yes, I know it's really sad that I even noticed.

  1. Its like a different country down there, so I try not to go.

I've weened myself from the Starbucks habit, thankfully.

  2. I see that the heat and humidity of summertime in Florida has already snuck its way into your head.
