Turn The Page

I have a T-shirt that boldly states, "Time is an invention." And so it is that I have failed to see the value of New Year's Resolutions, but for the notion that since one is turning the page on the calendar, one might consider turning the page on a dissatisfying habit. It can also be tempting to think of all the ill of the past as being in THAT calendar and not THIS one. (Believe it or not, I also consider the going-out on New Year's Eve to observe midnight's happening somewhat pointless, but for the opportunity to spend more time with friends, and the general lack of going back to work tomorrow morning.)

Were I the resolution-making type, however, Beau (noted via Max) has the right idea: Be Better. (My goodness, has it really been 14 months since we met Beau in person?) It's worth practicing to Be Better not just on the big turn-the-page of the yearly date, but on the daily turn-the-page we meet each morning.

Happy New Year; see you on the other side of the page.
