I've said it a few times to friends: I feel about a month off schedule this year. Every Date Of Note in the past few months has come faster than I expected — Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and now New Year's. I have chalked it up to the lost-to-the-hurricanes September we had, but it's still a little disconcerting. Maybe my time off this week will help me readjust. If not, maybe the cruise (18 days and counting) will.
Yesterday's fun included lunch and Mo-linea shopping with Jorge, who decided to pull up The Daily Dewayne on one of the too-large-for-life 30-inch displays at the Apple Store. The text was at a readable size, but even without making the browser window fit the whole screen, the home-page rendition of a recent entry stood at less than 1 inch tall, and manymany inches wide. I'm sure there's someone out there — somewhere — who can help me justify one of these (at least at work)...? (Did I mention that one of these screens would cost nearly twice what I paid for my laptop?)
Today is my only workday this week (hopefully). One of our clients needed project support today, so... why not. After leaving Thursday (and we did get to leave between 3 and 4), and taking a four-day weekend, I can't say I was eager to return to work, but by next Monday I'm sure I would have run out of ways to avoid all the housework I need to do.
Go for the big screen! There's nothing like buying yourself some really nice hardware for the Holidays!
ReplyDeleteAgreed... but my laptop won't even drive that big of a screen. So, of course, I'd need to buy the new desktop, and...
ReplyDeleteand lunch was great with you Eric :-)
