Losing Credibility

Am I being too cynical when I notice the disconnect here? I received a newspaper-ish flyer in the mail today for a vehicle "clearance"sale at a nearby dealer. The headline is too big to read without unfolding it, but halfway down the page, in big bold type, it says: NO GIMMICKS! PERIOD! Excuse me, but the whole flyer is a gimmick, heightened by having the name of the company assisting with the clearance in quotes, and featuring a ® symbol every time it appears.
