Extended Family
NOTE: Some of today's links may not be considered work-appropriate by all parties. Click at your own risk.

The latest craze sweeping sites I visit: BlogTree. The theory is you go register your blog, and tie it back to the blog (or blogs) that inspired you to start — your "parents" — and it is building a blog Family Tree. For me, this is easy: I was clearly inspired by four blogs. Two of these I still read daily (here and here; one is rarely updated; one is completely dead. (No, I haven't registered yet.)

Far more interesting to me is how I came to my current list of frequently-read blogs. Just like gay life in Orlando, there isn't room for six degrees of separation here — you're lucky if you have two. Dewayne's links list led me to encorswish and Sardonic Bomb, who, it turns out, link back and forth. (Encorswish actually links back to me, and I remember the day I noticed. I felt like I'd been recognized by a member of the Blog-literati.) I don't remember how I got started reading HCL, although at least half the pages I do read link there. Bj directed me to little. yellow. different., who, I noticed yesterday, also links back to Encorswish. Of course, Bj also inadvertently directed me to a different blog by someone who shares her name (to an extent), who I will admit to reading now and again — and who is also part of the 'swish-HCL-leather egg circle of blogging.

Then there's the other branch, also generated by Dewayne, to v-hold.net, which led to another favorite read, Wandering Thoughts. From what I can tell, the other "circle" doesn't cross this branch, except at Dewayne's page (and mine, if I'd ever update my links). And on another branch, Dewayne has led me to 'Bred Crumbs, which I don't recall seeing linked anywhere else — which is sad, because Tim's site is very worth the read.
