Going Up?

Recently, my project team was temporarily relocated to a "bullpen" setup to supposedly help us complete the work. I won't even go into my feelings on that (although I do enjoy the first definition of "bullpen" courtesy Merriam-Webster: a large cell where prisoners are detained until brought into court). I realized yesterday that this is the highest office I've had.

My previous temporary location was on the first floor, and I have been on the second floor at my other home-office for quite some time. That building had an elevator, but the stairs were just easier. This building, though, was built probably around 1975 or so, presumably to house executive offices for our company. It's pretty enough inside — the core of the building is an atrium complete with waterfall and 4-story-tall trees — but there aren't any accessible stairs from inside. There are standard-issue fire-exit stairs, of course, but as I discovered last night, they exit outside instead of back into the lobby. I guess when this building was designed it wasn't fashionable yet to use the stairs as part of your day-to-day health regimen.
