Disposing of Income

I stopped by a 7-Eleven on the way home from the gym on Sunday to refill my tank. (Paranoid Coping Mechanism Number One: Never let the gas tank get below 1/4.) I paid $1.549, which was better than the $1.579 at the BP Connect by my house. (Since the BP opened, they have generally been the cheapest gas in the area.) Last night, the 7-Eleven had raised the price to $1.719, while the BP Connect remained unchanged. I couldn't see this morning's BP Connect price because of glare from the rising sun.

All the economic-stimulus-packages in the world won't help if I have to spend all my previously disposable income on refueling my car to get me to and from the source of said income, my job. I've cancelled a planned shopping (and not-being-in-Orlando, sanity-maintenance) trip to Tampa this weekend because I don't want to pay for the fuel, and I need the money for upcoming planned vehicle maintenance.
