A Little Taste Of Home

For those of you residing in the Orlando area, you experienced the weather of my childhood this weekend. Sunday morning, walking under the trees between car and church, I had a weather-flashback to late Septembers / early Octobers back in Southern Oregon. Damp ground, high humidity, rain dripping from the trees, temperatures in the 50's. Those were the days just before the arrival of daily frost and winter's thick fog. In fact, some of the midsummer mornings at my church's youth camp felt that way. If I hadn't already been in the mood to sit on the edge of a forest lake and just "be," that would've put me there — instead, it just solidified the mood. Unfortunately, there are a distinct lack of such sites in Central Florida, and the mood is further ruined by today's projected high in the mid 70's. Oh, well.
