Workin' (It)

This is the first 5-day work week I've had since August, because of the Labor Day holiday and then my vacation spanning three work weeks. That would make today, the first fifth day in five weeks.

In a presentation I recently watched, the speaker told the audience he wanted their job to be something they came to because they enjoyed it, and not because they just needed to be paid. That got me thinking: Have I ever been there? Or is this the kind of thing upper executives making six-figure salaries say to those of us with five-figure salaries?

I mean, I don't particulary hate my job. I just wouldn't say that I wake up in the morning every day and think, "gosh, I just can't wait to get to work today." Anecdotally, I don't see that in most people I know. Again, I've only heard it from executives many, many levels up from me.

What say you, reader? Do you have that kind of job? Or are you in my boat — or worse, abhor the hand that feeds you? Use that little "Comment" link and let me know. I'll make the comments part of the main blog at some point in the near future, so everyone can share in the fun.
