I've had quite the urge to visit the homeland lately. Rough (mainly annoying) week at work, decent deals on airfare, Dan's mom (the not-quite-mother-in-law) planning her visit next month, and my own folks canceling their trip and inviting me out there at their expense, all in a single week.
So, if I wasn't already in a "time-to-visit-the-Northwest" mood, we've had a day of Northwest-esque rain, starting yesterday at lunchtime and continuing off-and-on through about now. This morning's clincher: as I drove on one of the straightaway stretches of US 192 this morning, the clouds on the horizon were almost exactly the shape and color of the mountains back home on a rainy morning. It certainly took a second glance through morning-weary eyes.
