Well, the rain and winds seem to be taking a break, and the natives (a.k.a. other hotel guests) are getting restless. In fact, Dan has decided to defy curfew on the premise of going back to the house. Even the news seems to be hinting that the worst is "over."
And yet, I look at the radar, and although the eye is nearing the Tampa area and the Gulf Coast, her eastern side is still over the state, and out over the Atlantic yet. A map (and if I were at home I could upload a capture) shows probably 120 miles of Miss F yet to cross over us. Here's hoping that "the worst is over" isn't just heavy wishful thinking in action.
Update, 5:50 p.m.: Well, Dan made it home and found carpets along the back of the house, in all rooms, wet to about three feet from the wall. No apparent damage to the walls at this point, though, nor do the windowsills appear wet, so the water must have come from underneath somehow. Here's hoping this doesn't mean the worst for us has just kicked in.
