The last National Hurricane Center advisory on the last named tropical storm — Nicole — was issued on October 11, almost exactly eight weeks after our first-of-four hurricanes this year, and roughly 50 days ago.
So today, as people discuss the Official Last Day of this historic hurricane season (for this year at least, as the pessimistic reporter reminded us last night)... Tropical Storm Otto has formed.
Not that it's coming this way, or anything, but for me the irony is inescapable.
