Decoratus Interruptus

Our holiday preparations haven't progressed much. Sunday, Dan and I assembled our Christmas-tree-in-a-box, and I put up the lighted faux-pine garland on our living room plant shelf, along with the lighted faux-pine wreath in a front window. Dan put together our Christmas card holder, which proudly displays the two cards we have received thus far.

That's how it has stood since Sunday afternoon, though. The tree remains undecorated, and the most difficult-to-reach strand of lit garland has decided to start turning itself on and off at random intervals. Boxes of potential decór litter the living room. At our current rate and my ongoing level of inspiration, the house might be presentable in time for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

  1. Ahh....don't let the Grinch take hold! :) Put on the Carpenter's "Christmas Portrait" and you'll soon be decorated and in the mood once again!! Peppermint patties work, too. :)

  2. I guess that's one good thing about having a partner who loves to decorate. The boxes come out of the attic and all the decorations go up quickly. But why not invite some friends over to help you finish decorating? Make a party out of it! :-)
