- Amazing how easy it was to strike up friendships. First night, we had dinner with a couple from Chicago, who we met at the hot tub in early evening. Second night, we went with them as part of a larger group (totalling about 8 of us) to a couple of clubs. Both nights, we were party to conversation and relaxation in the hot tub until 3 in the morning. (Late) mornings, there was breakfast and CNN in the lobby with whomever was awake. I wonder: is it the all-gay factor, or the clothing-optional factor, that made people so amiable with each other?(Not to say there wasn't drama — I just kept my distance from it.)
- I received a couple of ego-boosting compliments, and I'm holding on to them for all they're worth. For one, I was told I had a very "inviting" smile. It sounded good at the time.
- On the long drive home, I found myself pondering: wouldn't it be nice to know what you want out of life by the time you turn 34?

Hippo, Birdie, Two Ewes
I made it back from the birthday weekend safely... I just haven't been inspired to write. (The lack of inspiration is fueled, I believe, by three consecutive nights of sleeping 6 hours or less. I'm definitely an 8-hours kind of guy.) There are stories, but I think they're growing kinda cold already. A few remaining themes of interest strike me:
