Step Aside, Satine

A couple of years ago, I stumbled across — and fell in love with — the debut album from Greek Tenor Mario Frangoulis. Great voice, great mix of songs, and a great-looking guy, to boot. Today, on a quick trip to Barnes & Noble (trying to get the book for next week's book-club meeting — better late than never), a fortuitous pass through the music section revealed his sophomore release, Follow Your Heart. In two years, it seems his voice has improved, and (were it possible) he's even better looking than before. At the risk of sounding all teenage-girl: swoon.

Case in point: My CD player is going to burn a permanent hole through track 1, his solo rendition of "Come What May" (the love duet from Moulin Rouge). I can close my eyes and imagine I'm being sung to, especially without the Nicole Kidman female part to get in the way.

Come to think of it, I'd love to hear it as a duet between Mario and Ewan McGregor...

  2. Most of the album is on iTunes: Follow Your Heart. They left off track 7 for some reason... but that's OK, I usually skip track 7 when I play it!!
