Shortly after I bought my Saturn sedan, I figured my next car might be a Saturn coupe. Unfortunately, they replaced the SC2 I coveted with the Ion Coupe, which I do not love quite so much — and I'm not entirely sure why. It just doesn't capture my imagination the same way, somehow.
I began mentally exploring other options, and was becoming enamored of the Jeep Liberty...
...when Dan went out and bought one for himself. I refuse to have matching cars (oh, how cute!), so began browsing again.
How about the VW Jetta? I've thought they were cute in the past, and their semi-boxiness added, oddly, to the appeal. So Jorge and I dropped by a VW dealer on Saturday, to discover they've uglified the Jetta. Rounded and stretched it out to the point it looks more like a Buick. Scratch another off my list.
None of the other cars on my mental list are in any way, shape or form practical. Prius or Mini? I just don't think so. Besides, I'm enjoying not having a monthly car payment.
Ohhh, but you would look so cute driving a Mini. They do have an Orange one :-)
ReplyDeleteIf it ain't broke, don't fix it! If you don't NEED a new car, you only WANT one, you could be putting that money to better use! I badly want a new Honda and it was going to be my year-end purchase because I'll ahve all my bills paid by then but now I think I'll keep driving my old one for awhile longer.
ReplyDeleteNow why would I want an orange car, Jorge?
ReplyDeleteAnd CB, you're so right... new car is still so much a WANT not a NEED... I can be patient.
