Who Says Extended Warranties Are Stupid?

Came home tonight, opened the garage door by remote, parked, unloaded the car, walked in to the house and pushed the garage-door-opener button...

...and nothing happened. Actually, the opener shuddered and stayed open. Repeated attempts did nothing.

Damn.

Fortunately, we have a maintenance agreement on this thing through 2009. UNfortunately, the soonest I can get an appointment is July 6. It's amazing how quickly you get spoiled using these things. (Back on the "fortunately" side, they finally fixed the street light that illuminates our front door — which we never use, but will for a couple of weeks now. At least we'll be able to see the lock.)

On a more light-hearted note.. let's say you spotted a new boy at the gym, who had a soul patch for a beard. Let's say you happened to notice (ok, more than once) that he was sporting a P.A. — and excuse me for not knowing how to decipher gauge, but it must have been about 1/8 inch thick. Let's say you only see him in the steam room and other wet areas, and then notice as you leave he has the robe-and-sandals of the facility's spa — which implies he was there for a massage or other spa treatment.

How safe might it be to assume that the boy is gay? I mean, how many straight men get P.A.'s? (I refuse to count the Christian-fish symbol on his ancient land-yacht of a car as evidence. I'm thinking "previous owner.")

  1. What is a PA? just kidding :-). To the best of my knowledge PA's are only in gay guys. Why, I have non idea I would NEVER!

  2. You should ahve come with us this weekend to St. Pete. Mark spent quite awhile educating our friends on P.A.'s and demonstrating (yes, he has one).

I would tend towards the guy being gay, though he gets major marks off for not removing the fish symbol from his car.

BTW, which gym do you go to?

  3. I think after all the comments I make about people I see at the gym... perhaps it's best I not say. (GRIN)
