Ten, Four

Ten years ago this morning, I woke up at work. I had spent the night on a "ride-out" crew for Hurricane Erin &mdash we did prep work the night before, and were on hand to do clean-up work after. It wasn't my first tropical system — darn near, having moved here in November the year before — but it was the biggest deal until Floyd threatened to come through here a few years later. It certainly contributed to my unhealthy obsession with tropical weather systems, which is easily documented by scanning the archives around here.

Four years ago today, I posted the obligatory test message that heralded the birth of this blog.
