Last night, I went to see Hairspray with friends. It was all I could do to NOT sing along. I nearly shrieked when I saw John Waters' cameo … but missed Ricki Lake's — only poetic since she originated the Tracy Turnblad role back in the 80s.
My (inadvertently) themed weekend continued this morning with my first-ever day-trip to the Sawmill Campground, home to … a lake named Ricki. Go figure.
Then, tonight, Dan & I ended up going to see … Hairspray. This time I spotted Ms. Lake's cameo. And I continued to refrain myself from singing along. Mostly.
Wow, 2 Hairsprays in 2 days? That's a lot of hairspray.
ReplyDeleteDid you see anything "interesting" at the Sawmill? We've never been but would like to go. We've been to camp Mars once and would like to compare.
We saw it and loved it. Did you sit through the credits and hear the I'm A Big Girl Now song? That was the three "original" Tracy's singing.
