Remembering my Anniversary
Amazing to think that seven years ago today, I was sitting in Disney's "Traditions" class (my fourth time — once when I got hired at The Disney Store, once as part of the opening team of a new store, and once when I got hired by Planet Hollywood), starting my current continuous employment. (Can't really say "current job" since I'm on, what, my 7th title in that time?) I don't know if 7 years is significant in other companies, or if you'd even know. Here, everyone seems to make a big deal of every company anniversary, but the next BIG big deal comes at 10. That's when you get The Wall Plaque and (I think) a dinner. And a new pin for your nametag.
Will I make it that long? Dunno. My director claims that once most people make it past 2 years, they're basically lifers, and that may have been true at one time. But I also think I'm not entirely closed-off to the idea of working elsewhere, as long as that elsewhere isn't Central Florida.
Spring Has Sprung
...and gone. We had our week, and now it's back to the high 80's - low 90's kind of weather. I put away the bed blanket this morning, won't need that again until December....
Briefest Workout Ever
All I did was walk from the parking lot to the gym and back. Seems the hot water in the showers is broken, and they're "working on it," no ETA. I don't want to be with me in the car after a workout, sans shower, thank you.
