Obviously, Dewayne didn't heed Bj's warning. But we thank him for being our table's sacrificial lamb. It was worth holding the winning shirt for him.


Where's the Beef?

Seen today: two different takes on burger marketing. One billboard (perhaps for Krystal?) advertising an item as a "vegetarian's worst nightmare," while Burger King introduces a meatless burger to their menu.


Creative Writing

Went over to Powells.com to activate my gift credit. The process ended with the following greeting:
You are redeemed!
(Your Virtual Credit has been activated!)
Doesn't that feel better?
You now have [amount removed] in credit at Powells.com
You need not spend the credit now. If you don't, it will simply remain in your account. But then again, maybe you should. In a complex, scientific study conducted by a local second grade class, books purchased less than a month after taking residence in a bookstore were seven times more likely to have a positive self image. Books with red covers, especially. Perhaps you can help.
So perhaps we can forgive them for referring to Armistead Maupin's book Babycakes as belonging to his SEX IN THE CITY series, as opposed to his TALES OF THE CITY series.
