This Has Not Been My Week.

I know I haven't actually been running non-stop since returning from vacation, it just feels that way today.

Thursday, I went to dinner with some co-workers, and then directly to PI afterward to meet Dan, so I was gone from home just over 16 hours that day. I rushed out to work on Friday, and by the end of the day, had amassed two major crisis projects, both due Monday, and was planning to work on a 3rd at home over the weekend.

Got home to discover my iMac had died, and died hard — the computer still works, but it doesn't know that it has a hard drive anymore. It and $130 of my money currently sit at CompUSA. Worst case scenario, I lose a year's worth of digital audio and photography, my email archives, and the design for a site I was toying with. And no, I don't have a recent backup. Oh, and Project Number Three ain't goin' nowhere until the iMac returns. (I'm just glad I never got around to selling my old Performa, even if it is dirt slow and is stuck with a dial-up 'net connection.)

I had regularly-scheduled service for my Saturn on Saturday, too, and while it was there, I had them tighten the clip that holds the visor on the driver's side. Today, the clip shattered from overtightening.

Saturday night, Bj orchestrated an evening seeing the musical revue "Fairy Tales" at Parliament House. Excellent show; wish she hadn't had house trauma, which prevented her from joining us, ironically. Of course, since we paid cover to see the show, we hung around to enjoy the evening. At one point I told Dewayne that my having one more drink could be a good thing, or a bad thing. I had one more (of course), and the jury is still out. I don't think I made a fool of myself, but getting up for church this morning was VERY difficult.

And now, it's just after 8:00 p.m., and I am contemplating bed already. God knows I'll need all the energy reserves I have to make it through the workday. Oh, and did I mention that I have a dentist appointment tomorrow, to boot?
