Imperfect Storms
From what I read, we've actually had less rain this year, than last. Granted, there has been more in August 2003 than August 2002. Perhaps it's sensitivity brought about by the Power Surge, but I am now thoroughly over nightly Storms of Destruction. The other day, there was a formal tornado warning, focused on my new building-of-employment. Yesterday, every time I stepped outside I got caught in a downpour. I was in a late-day meeting with an executive in charge of one of the Disney properties during one particulary nasty weather episode, and he got called by his boss to go watch TV for a moment. The National Weather Service has, of late, decided one area of his property makes a great geographic reference. All their watches/warnings/statements for this part of the planet now seem to reference "PLEASURE ISLAND" as a weather target. At least we were never instructed to duck-and-cover (or run downstairs), and one hopes he would have been among the first to know of impending doom.
